Men aged 70 or older had a 1.45-fold greater hazard risk of biochemical recurrence following prostatectomy. Overall survival was lowest for men of this age group who underwent surgery.

We found that men 70 years old or older had worse outcomes with respect to biochemical recurrence-free, prostate cancer specific and overall survival. Implications for screening and treatment recommendations are yet to be defined,"
